Trauma-Informed Wellness Services

Wellness Beyond the Arena

While horses are at the heart of Dragonheart's equine-assisted programs, wellness does not begin or end at the barn door.

Dragonheart also offers individual and supplemental wellness services designed to support relaxation, body awareness, nervous-system regulation, personal growth, confidence, connection, and greater understanding of the patterns that influence how we think, feel, communicate, and respond to the world around us.

Services may be offered individually or, when appropriate, as optional additions to Dragonheart programs.

Our approach recognizes that no single practice works for everyone. Participants are encouraged to explore the approaches that feel useful and appropriate for them while maintaining choice, consent, and personal autonomy throughout the process.

Somatic & Body-Based Wellness

AromaTouch Massage

A structured essential-oil and touch-based wellness experience designed to encourage relaxation, grounding, sensory awareness, and connection with the body. AromaTouch can be incorporated into a broader relaxation or somatic wellness experience, with communication and consent maintained throughout the session.

Somatic Bodywork

Somatic bodywork places attention not only on the physical experience of touch, but also on what the participant notices within their body. Sessions may incorporate guided breathing, grounding, sensory awareness, mindfulness, and invitations to notice areas of tension, comfort, relaxation, activation, or emotional response. Rather than trying to force the body into relaxation, the goal is to create conditions in which participants can practice listening to their bodies and recognizing their own signals, preferences, and boundaries.

Relaxation Massage

A gentle, restorative massage experience focused on comfort, relaxation, and easing everyday muscular tension. Sessions may incorporate flowing massage techniques, light to moderate pressure, stretching, and calming touch based on the participant’s preferences. The experience is designed to provide a quiet space to rest, decompress, and reconnect with a sense of physical ease. Communication, consent, and personal boundaries are maintained throughout the session.

Energy & Vibrational Wellness

For participants interested in complementary or spiritually oriented wellness practices, Dragonheart offers several energy-based modalities. These practices are offered as complementary wellness experiences rather than medical diagnosis or treatment.

Fa Kung / Medical Qigong-Informed Energy Work

Energy-focused practices drawn from Fa Kung and Medical Qigong training may incorporate breath, intention, awareness, meditative focus, and traditional concepts involving the movement and balance of qi. Sessions are designed to support relaxation, mindfulness, energetic awareness, and an individual's personal wellness practice.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle energy-based wellness practice traditionally centered on relaxation, intentional presence, and energetic balance. Dragonheart offers practices informed by Reiki Level I and II training. Sessions may involve light touch or hands-off techniques according to the participant's preferences and boundaries.

Vibrational Healing

Vibrational wellness practices explore the use of sound, resonance, focused intention, energetic awareness, and other sensory or meditative experiences to support relaxation and personal reflection.

Hypnosis, Mindset & Personal Development

Hypnotherapy-Informed Wellness

Hypnosis uses focused attention, relaxation, imagination, and suggestion to help participants explore thoughts, habits, internal narratives, and desired changes. Sessions may focus on areas such as relaxation, confidence, motivation, personal development, emotional regulation, habit change, or strengthening internal resources. Hypnosis is collaborative. Participants remain active participants in the experience and retain the ability to accept, reject, or modify suggestions.

Hypnotic Regression

Regression techniques use focused attention and guided imagery to explore memories, associations, emotions, or earlier experiences that a participant wishes to examine. Because memory is reconstructive and can be influenced by suggestion, regression is approached as a tool for personal exploration rather than a method for establishing historical facts or recovering objectively verified memories.

Conversational Hypnosis

Conversational hypnosis explores the relationship between language, attention, imagination, suggestion, and human behavior. It can be used within personal-development work to increase awareness of communication patterns and how words, framing, assumptions, and attention influence our experiences and interactions.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP-informed exercises explore patterns involving language, attention, beliefs, internal representations, communication, and behavior. Within Dragonheart, NLP techniques may be used as personal-development and communication tools to help participants examine habitual patterns, experiment with different perspectives, and develop more intentional responses.

Social Intelligence & Personal Safety

Advanced Social Dynamics

Human interactions contain an extraordinary amount of information. Advanced Social Dynamics explores communication, interpersonal patterns, social cues, influence, rapport, boundaries, emotional regulation, and the ways people respond to one another. Participants can develop greater awareness of both their own communication patterns and the dynamics occurring around them. The goal is not to teach people how to control others. It is to help people become more intentional about how they communicate, recognize influence, establish boundaries, and navigate complicated interpersonal situations.

Recognizing Manipulation, Coercion & Social Predators

Some of the most important self-defense skills begin long before physical danger occurs.

Participants learn to recognize patterns associated with manipulation, coercive control, grooming, boundary testing, unhealthy influence, deceptive communication, escalating demands, and other potentially exploitative interpersonal behaviors.

Training may explore topics such as:

  • recognizing manipulation and coercion
  • boundary testing and incremental escalation
  • grooming patterns
  • emotional leverage
  • guilt, obligation, and manufactured urgency
  • love bombing and accelerated intimacy
  • isolation and dependency
  • conversational influence
  • recognizing inconsistencies between words and behavior
  • maintaining boundaries under social pressure
  • responding to unwanted influence
  • distinguishing persuasion from coercion
  • rebuilding trust in one's own observations and judgment

The purpose is not to make participants suspicious of everyone they encounter. It is to help them develop enough social awareness to recognize when something deserves a second look.

Connection & Relational Wellness

Sensual Enhancement

Sensual wellness focuses on reconnecting with the senses, body awareness, communication, presence, boundaries, and the ability to recognize and express preferences. Depending on the context, sessions or educational experiences may explore sensory awareness, communication, mindfulness, confidence, connection, consent, and becoming more comfortable identifying what feels pleasant, neutral, uncomfortable, wanted, or unwanted. Sensual wellness is approached through explicit consent, clearly established boundaries, and participant autonomy.

Our Philosophy

Whether someone meets Dragonheart in the arena, through somatic bodywork, during a mindfulness practice, or in a communication workshop, the underlying philosophy remains the same:

  • Awareness creates options.
  • Options create choice.
  • Choice strengthens agency.

Our role is not to tell participants what they should feel, believe, choose, or become. Our role is to provide experiences, education, practices, and tools that may help them understand themselves more clearly and make their own choices more intentionally.

Dragonheart's complementary wellness and educational services are not substitutes for licensed medical care, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, physical therapy, crisis intervention, or other healthcare services. Individual services are offered within the scope of the provider's applicable education, training, certification, and legal scope of practice.
