THE DRAGONHEART WELLNESS

The Healing Path of Warriors and Wanderers

Dragonheart Wellness is a peaceful, nature-based environment dedicated to emotional restoration, personal growth, and meaningful connection. Surrounded by open grasslands, quiet pines, and the grounding presence of animals, our programs support individuals who are seeking healing, clarity, or a renewed sense of self.


Many of the people who come to Dragonheart Wellness are carrying stress, grief, trauma, burnout, or life transitions. Here, they discover a safe space where they do not have to navigate those challenges alone. Participants work alongside horses, rescued mustangs, reptiles, and other gentle animals whose calm presence helps encourage trust, regulation, and emotional awareness.


At the center of our wellness offerings is the “How to Tame Your Dragon” Equine Program — a hands-on, experiential journey that uses the real process of earning a horse’s trust to teach grounding, confidence, emotional resilience, and healthy communication. Through guided sessions, horsemanship activities, mindfulness practices, and quiet moments of reflection, participants learn to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and build inner strength.


Veterans, trauma survivors, first responders, parents, teachers, young adults, and individuals facing overwhelm or major life changes all find a supportive path here. Dragonheart Wellness offers a range of formats — from single-day sessions to weekend retreats and multi-week programs — allowing participants to progress at their own pace.


Our animals and staff work together to create an environment of safety and support. Horses offer honest feedback and grounding presence; mustangs demonstrate resilience and the power of rebuilding trust; reptiles encourage calm focus and mindful interaction; and our trained facilitators guide each person with compassion and individualized care.


At Dragonheart Wellness, healing is not rushed or clinical — it is experiential, relational, and deeply personal. It is the moment someone feels their breath slow beside a calm horse, the confidence that emerges through a successful partnership, or the quiet understanding that they do not have to face life’s challenges alone.

DRAGONHEART WELLNESS CURRICULUM

Where Healing Becomes a Hero’s Journey

At Dragonheart Wellness, each participant is guided through a structured, trauma-informed program designed to promote emotional resilience, personal insight, and confidence. Rooted in evidence-based practices and supported by the calming presence of horses, our curriculum blends horsemanship, mindfulness, and reflective exercises into a meaningful and empowering experience.


Participants begin by entering a space intentionally created for safety and grounding. Early sessions focus on helping individuals settle into the present moment, learn effective breathing techniques, and build a sense of comfort within the environment.


From there, they are introduced to the foundations of equine behavior and communication. Participants learn how horses express emotion, how they respond to human body language and energy, and how their responses can provide valuable feedback about our own emotional patterns.


As the program progresses, participants move into trust-building exercises with their equine partners. Through consent-based interaction, groundwork, and calm, clear communication, individuals practice skills that support emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and self-awareness. These sessions provide an opportunity to explore themes such as self-confidence, vulnerability, leadership, and connection.


Hands-on horsemanship activities help participants develop practical skills while also encouraging reflection. Whether leading a horse through a simple obstacle course or working through moments of hesitation, participants learn how to approach challenges with patience, clarity, and problem-solving skills that transfer directly to everyday life.


In advanced sessions, individuals deepen their partnership with their horse by applying the skills they’ve learned — building consistency, strengthening communication, and practicing resilience in the face of uncertainty. These experiences often lead to shifts in self-perception and empower participants to trust their own capabilities.


Throughout the entire program, intentional mindfulness practices are woven into the curriculum. These may include guided reflections, journaling, breathwork, nature walks, or quiet moments of observation with the horses. Each practice is designed to help participants process emotions, gain clarity, and integrate their experiences in a personal and meaningful way.


The program concludes with a reflective session that highlights each participant’s progress, personal insights, and growth. This closing experience serves as an acknowledgement of the commitment they have made to themselves and the tools they’ve developed along the journey.


Whether attending a single-day immersion, a weekend retreat, or a multi-week program, participants in Dragonheart Wellness discover a supportive pathway toward healing, self-awareness, and renewed confidence — guided by skilled facilitators and the powerful presence of horses.

SIGNATURE HEALING PROGRAMS

For women healing from trauma, abuse, or emotional wounds

The Heartfire Program offers a safe and empowering space for women who have walked through hardship and are seeking grounding, renewal, and reconnection with themselves. In this gentle, nature-based program, participants work alongside calm horses, and other supportive animals whose presence helps rebuild trust and emotional regulation.

Through guided equine sessions, mindfulness practices, trauma-informed exercises, and quiet moments of reflection, women learn to reclaim their sense of worth, rediscover inner strength, and reawaken the heart’s fire after difficult seasons. This program focuses on safety, dignity, emotional resilience, and the steady return of self-confidence.


For veterans and first responders seeking restoration

The Warrior’s Rest is a grounding and restorative experience designed for veterans, first responders, and others who have dedicated their lives to service. Many arrive carrying stress, hypervigilance, grief, or burnout — here, they find a place to set their burdens down.

Working with horses and other calm animals helps participants regulate their nervous system, rebuild trust, and reconnect with a sense of inner stability. Structured equine activities, mindfulness practices, and guided reflection support emotional awareness and resilience while honoring each participant’s story. This program offers peace, purpose, and the chance to breathe deeply again.


For teachers, parents, caregivers, and adults seeking peace and reconnection

The Dragon Tamer’s Respite provides a much-needed sanctuary for those who spend their lives caring for others — teachers, parents, social workers, caretakers, and adults facing burnout or emotional fatigue.

In this soothing wellness experience, participants slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves through gentle animal interactions, grounding exercises, and calming equine activities. Horses help restore balance and presence; reptiles encourage mindful handling and focus; nature offers quiet space to reflect and recentre.

This program is designed to bring clarity, peace, and renewed strength to those who seldom take time for their own wellbeing.


For young women (ages 16–25) seeking confidence, direction, and emotional resilience


The How to Tame Your Dragon program is a cornerstone of Dragonheart Wellness — a transformational equine experience where young women learn confidence, communication, and emotional resilience through the process of connecting with rescues, young horses, and/or mustangs.


Guided sessions combine horsemanship skills, groundwork, trust-building, mindfulness, and personal development. As participants learn to work with sensitive, intelligent equines, they also learn patience, assertiveness, self-awareness, and the power of showing up with presence and authenticity.


This program is ideal for young adults navigating life transitions, seeking empowerment, or rebuilding their sense of direction. It teaches not only how to earn a horse’s trust — but how to trust oneself.
